No Time Like The Present

So many of us seem to be groping around for some way of livening up our daily lives.  Comes a rainy day and what the Dickens to do?  Depends on the time of year to a certain extent.  And on where we live, how old we are, how our daily budgets are holding out.  Ah!  Could improve upon that I daresay.  I doubt, these days, if any of us is really one hundred percent satisfied with our purse strings.  I bet you, like most of us, could do with a bit of a booster in that direction?  One of the best things about the Internet is that we can find out so much about things we'd like to be doing with the click of a mouse.  Loads of sports to follow and read up about.  Lots of ways to improve the golf.  We can look at paintings of admired artists without searching for weeks on end, even go and take lessons.  Read up about our favourite film stars of years gone by (if you are an old movie buff like me).  Whoever had heard about organic gardening until a few years ago?  Let alone had a try in your own back garden.  You probably have far more time these days, if the bones will allow you, to really get down to business. And it's amazing what you can do even with a few pots and tubs.  Health and exercise, food, the right kind I mean.  I guess you've got the gist of what I shall be aiming at by now?  Yes, let's get down to finding out a bit about something and then let's think about selling it on to someone else.  And Because I am never far away from my garden that's exactly where I intend to start.  I am fortunate in having had a nice greenhouse built a few years ago.  It replaced a bought one which had been in use for many years.  But after I found I had much time on my hands, it was clear that after a long and fruitful life, the old greenhouse needed replacing and a bigger and sturdier one must replace it.  After all, nothing is getting less expensive, and growing one's own plants , flowers and vegetables is a worthwhile and most satisfactory occupation on the home front, as they used to say in wartime.  And GREEN is the way to go.
  • Now this looks a bit mercenary doesn't it?  But it isn't, because it is an eBook full of ideas of conserving, not only in gardening but in plenty of other ways as well.  And the point is that once bought, it is yours to sell on.  Which in itself is another interest to think about.  But let's get back to the garden chat. This is the time of year to start of course.  Get the seeds in and watch them start growing.  I always raise as many as possible in trays because it saves masses of work trying to keep the weeds from the seedlings.  Far easier to place a delicate lettuce plant into a newly dug piece of ground than try to hoe round a row and lose so many Oganics's the Word

And who wouldn't be happy with results like these?
Safe in the knowledge that they do not contain unknown and possibly harmful chemicals.  Believe me it is not difficult.  Every year I have had self sown seedlings from these tomatoes, so they are hardy too it seems to me.  Just keep a good compost heap going all through the year.  Not just with grass cuttings, although they are marvellous for creating the heat to rot good kitchen waste down.  Same can be said for peppers and aubergines.  They are not so delicate as everyone would have us believe. And by the way, although I do grow tomatoes under cover - I have just the same results from outdoor ones provided the gardening boys make sure the plants are protected from winds.
I wonder if this has given you a couple of ideas?  Useful information books that can actually make you money too?  I actually sell books as a business offer from one site and also lots of books from my own private bookshelves too, through Amazon.  Perhaps a spot of guidance might be useful?  If you think so, here is a most helpful little publication which has helped many on the road to working from home.A helping hand?

Well today - here in England - we have had the most unwelcome news as far as the gardens are concerned!  There is to be a hose ban!  I have never heard of such a thing so early in the year.  It is going to take all the ingenuity of gardeners to get round this one.  But we no doubt will.  Anyway I shall not let it discourage me or my garden helpers either.  The great and the good are not always right!!  Apart from which they are not so great or so good in many people's eyes these days.

    Now Listen to ME!
There are so many things that people get up to in retirement.  Finding there is much more time for the dog or dogs.  Many people put off the owning of a dog until they retire.  The thought of leaving any dog alone during normal working hours is not a happy one - although there are many dogs who live this life.  Maybe they get used to it.  In a routine which they appear to accept.  Who knows if this is a good or a bad thing.  Certainly I am no judge.  I love dogs but have only owned one when I was a child in the war.  Cats have always been my pets. Loads of people have both of course, and I really guess this is the ideal.  I have a very nice eBook on the subject of dog training.
    Dog Obedience
All the eBooks that I have in my bookstore are for Information and for pleasure and selling on if you should so wish.  In fact I will give you the entire bookstore to peruse if you wish, since I have only selected a very few for over 200 that are on sale.  This you could look at as a complete business from home if you felt inclined.  It certainly is an enjoyable one.The entire eBookstore is here  Now my intention here is just to open your eyes to the possibility of taking on another activity in retirement.  It is not intended as a "sales pitch"  And of course I could go on and on about so many other subjects.  But my own pet subject is MOVIE HISTORY and alas there seem to be no eBooks on that subject.  I seek such things out for myself and indeed intend to make the subject into my next blog.
But before I go I'd just like to let you in on a wonderful opportunity for those of you who want to work from home.  It is totally FREE and you will be amazed at what is on offer.  Hee's my 'spiel'
